Arrived at this little gem yesterday around 6. Well actually I was supposed to arrive at 6 but as traveling goes, my shuttle from the hostel didn't arrive to pick me up for 20 very long minutes where I stood with my backpack and gear hoping not to be abandoned. Tricky phone lines were the problem and my driver was most apologetic for the wait. I'm heading out of the same Shell gas station today on my way to Port Elizabeth so let's hope there are no hiccups this time.
The place I'm currently staying is called African Array and although a bit removed from any town or civilization, the views are stunning and the hosts a delight. Matt and Vickie make sure you feel at home with the added bonus that Matt is an excellent cook. Don't order after 8 PM but if you are around for dinner, the spaghetti bolognese was extraordinary. Especially when accompanied by a local Cab-Merlot blend.
After dinner most of the guests gather around either the outdoor fire pit or the nice fireplace indoors.
