Salvation Mountain did just that

I had a really tough week and I was struggling to stay positive and upbeat. Being tired and somewhat unsure about the future certainly added to the feeling of sadness and loss and when Easter morning came along, I wasn't really into laughing over mimosas. I'd planned a pretty solitary day and was hopeful that maybe I could muster the energy for a little landscaping but couch management was the more likely scenario.

A friend called with the perfect plan for such a day - a trip to Salvation Mountain just past the Salton Sea. The trip takes about an hour and half each way from Palm Springs but little of the trip is on the freeway so you can enjoy the vastness of both the desert and the sea.

Salvation Mountain was created by a man who was emotionally lost and struggling in the desert. It is his and others vision of a path to clarity. For me it was a day with great friends at a time I needed it most. Here's to tomorrow bringing peace on the other side of salvation.
